Comparison between Apple iPhone And Samsung Galaxy

Right from the start, there has been a competition between Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy phones. In 2019, your main preference is going to be either an iPhone from the iPhone 11 series or Samsung Galaxy S10 or S9. You may also be looking at the premium Samsung Galaxy Note 10.

Phones produced by both of the brands are very expensive for obvious reasons. In this article, we are going to talk about phones from both of the brands to help you decide what you want to go for.

Apple iPhones vs. Samsung Galaxy S

We are going to talk about different features of phones from both of the brand for the sake of comparison. The features are generalized to give an overview. So, it is not about the specific phone models.

Design

While the concept of smartphone is pretty old, iPhone can be regarded as the practical pioneer here. The first iPhone was released in 2007 with a rounded, plastic shape. The newer iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max have sleeker glass design with the stainless steel band connecting the front and back of the phones. The newer models of iPhones are without the classic Home button, and overall design of the screen includes an edge-to-edge display which looks pretty amazing.

Much like iPhones, the newer Galaxy phones have evolved design which is quite different than what was there in the older models. The company has gotten rid of the all-plastic design.

Screen Quality

The display resolution on the newest iPhones is quite an increased one. The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a screen resolution of 2,688 x 1,242 pixels. But Samsung seems to be the obvious winner with a screen resolution of 3,040 x 1,440 pixels in its latest Galaxy S10+.

Talking about the screen size comparison, the results are mixed. The 5.8-inch screen of iPhone 11 Pro is smaller than 6.1-inch screen of Galaxy S10. On the other hand, the screen size of iPhone 11 Pro Max (6.5 inches) is bigger than that of Galaxy S10+ (6.4 inches).

The display types are also different in the phones from both of the brands. The iPhones have Super Retina XDR OLED display while Samsung new models use AMOLED screens.

Camera

In the new iPhone series, Apple has finally decided to go with the triple-camera setup in its pro models. Each of these three cameras is 12MP lens.

Samsung has also been in the tough competition with the top smartphone brands. The S10+ comes with the triple camera setup that includes a 16MP ultra-wide camera.

Operating system

The different between operating systems is exactly the same as the difference between Apple and Samsung companies. Apple uses iOS as the operating system for iPhones. And since this operating system is owned by Apple, the manufacturer has more control over the apps and upgrades.

Samsung runs Android on its phones. This operating system is being run and managed by Google. While both of the companies tend to be on the same page, they sometimes end up having compatibility issues.

Short Comparison Between iPhone 11 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10

Apple iPhone 11 Pro was launched in the September 2019 event (along with the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Max). If you look at this phone, you are going to find it an absolute beauty from the perspective of both design and performance.

But then, it is the best iOS Smartphone that you can get. So you may wonder how this phone stands up to the one of the best Android Phones, e.g. Samsung Galaxy S10.

Both iPhone 11 Pro and Galaxy S10 are basically the upgrades to their predecessors. And this is the reason that these are the best phones available for the users. And what makes them tightly comparable are the price and features. And while we now have Samsung Galaxy Note 10 in the market, S10 continues to be a powerhouse which doesn’t need an S Pen to win the competition.

In this article, we are going to compare both iPhone 11 Pro and Galaxy S10 in a bit of detail.

Design

Both of the phones look much like their predecessors. Galaxy S10 continues to have the Infinity Edge and the same arrangement of cameras. On the other hand, iPhone is a round-edges rectangle. The 6.1inch screen size makes the Galaxy S10 a pretty bigger phone. On the other hand, the iPhone 11 Pro comes with a screen size of 5.8 inches.

Looking at the camera arrangement of Samsung Galaxy S10, there are three cameras and a flashlight present in a rectangular wedge. And this wedge certainly looks more attractive as compared to the camera bump at the back of the iPhone 11 Pro. But that is also the matter of personal preferences.

Display

The 5.8-inch OLED screen of iPhone 11 Pro is quite sharper. The special term used for this display is ‘Super Retina XDR’. Since this screen is smaller than the other phones in iPhone 11 series, the notch on the top of the display looks bigger.

Talking about the Samsung Galaxy S10, the front facing camera is reduced to the size of single punch hole on the top right side of the display. There is a fingerprint sensor on the screen; which means that the sensor on the back side is eliminated.

The Galaxy S10 also has OLED screen. The screen resolution this phone comes with is 1,440 x 3,040 pixels, which are surely better than 1,125 x 2,436 pixels in the iPhone 11 Pro.

Camera

Camera pack can be regarded as the signature feature that has made the iPhone 11 series quite popular. The Pro phones in this series have an ultra-wide 12MP camera, a wide 12MP camera, and a telephoto 12MP camera.

Samsung Galaxy S10 also uses three cameras in the rear with the same functionalities mentioned above.

From the perspective of camera hardware, both of the phones are great. But the real comparison comes down to the post-processing software. In this scenario, iPhone 11 Pro can be seen as the winner because we all know how capable the iPhone’s photo processing is.

Performance

The performance of iPhone 11 Pro is powered by the new A13 chipset. Thus, it is the fastest Apple phone available.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S10 also comes with the best chip the Android phones have used, i.e. the Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820. If you want to upgrade, you can go for the phone with a processor chipset Snapdragon 855 Plus.
